We stumbled upon The secret Jachnun (ג’חנון מול הים) by accident on a cloudy Saturday morning and we felt like we discovered some kind of underground secret stash of baby unicorns in the middle of Tel Aviv, basically it’s a place where they do Jachnun delivery, but you can also sit and eat there, but first you need to find it which is not a trivial task in this case.
The first and only hint is the sign out side on Hayarkon street, “home made Jachnun and egg for 25 NIS”
But the only thing you see is an old ally, an entrance to an old and crumbling building, as strange as it may seem you’re on the write way.
In the end of the hallway you see a small path with stairs, it looks like we’re getting in somebody’s apartment..
The term “home made cuisine” gets it’s REAL meaning here, the family actually lives there, and welcomes you to sit and eat there also.
Finally the Jachnun arraives escorted with egg and resek (tomato sauce).
But don’t feed the dog
